I am running Windows 10 with the latest updates.

When I launch Overlord + Raising Hell the Configuration dialog is displayed.

I click "Save and Play" and I expect the game to launch.

However, instead of the game launching, the Configuration dialog closes and then opens up again.

No matter how many times I click "Save and Play", I cannot get the game to launch.

Steps I've tried to get the game working:
- Go to Overlord + Raising Hell and click on Play in GOG Galaxy
- Run the executable Overlord.exe in the game's installation folder directly
- Right-click on the executable Overlord.exe in the game's installation folder and selecting "Run as administrator"
- Run Config.exe directly from the game's installation folder
- Right-click on Config.exe and select "Run as administrator"
- Set the compatibility mode for Overlord.exe to Windows 7
- Tried multiple setting in the Configuration dialog

So far, nothing works. Every time I click Save and Play the Configuration dialog closes and reopens automatically.

*edit: I tried setting compatibility mode for both Config.exe and Overlord.exe to Windows 98, Windows XP SP2 and Windows XP SP3, but none of these settings helped.

I am also seeing this problem. Brand new setup, updated drivers, fairly clean install...game will not run.
Same to me. :(
I have the same problem ...
Have you tried putting an exemption in windows security or your AV?

i had the same problem too but i found out what's the problem, the pc is what's wrong, i managed to play the game on a different and kinda older model, so i came to the consclusion that you either need the best gaming pc, or an older pc

I wouldn't say the PC is the issue. The game is still being sold and advertised as compatible with Windows 10. The least they could do is provide instructions for how to get it to run on a modern machine.

I'm able to run it on a laptop with 9th intel core i79750H and nvidia rtx 2070 with windows 10. But it won't run on a 13th gen intel 13900HX and nvidia rtx 4080 with windows 10. Both have the same version of windows, so my guess is that it might have to do with the CPU.

Had an issue with Child of Light where you basically had to trick it into thinking your CPU has only 16 cores. That doesn't work for Overlord, but it might be related.

Edit:
In my case, it turned out I just needed to restart my PC. It was a new machine and I'd only just installed the redistributables. Quite a few games refused to run at all. I guess the restart completed the redist installations.
