I've been playing Outward without any issues whatsoever.

Oddly, just today, I booted up the game and after selecting any character, I'm stuck with my character moving to the left, non-stop. I've tried a few things. Like unplugging the controller, the mouse and the keyboard, respectively.

I was playing just fine last night, then coming home, its all wonky. Is there a reason for this?

The only adjustment I've made before playing was setting the localization to US, from EU. I have no idea how that would effect the game, but it feels like it did *something*. I've tried Repairing / Verifying. Looked online for solutions that didn't exist. No other games within my library have had any related issue. I'll probably try one or two.

Aside from that, I use a 360 controller to play. As doing so is much easier for me. But I've had no issues till today. I don't have any stuck keys, as the drag seems to happen regardless. The only thing I haven't yet tried is reinstallation, which I may as well try. Aside from that, I have no idea what could have caused the problem outside of my checking the box and changed the localization.
Alrighty. I've attempted reinstallation and unfortunately, I did not fix the issue.

It does seem like this only happens with Outward and no other game in my library.

I will likely just ask through support and post whatever solution I get here too.

So I resolved my own issue. And oddly, while it was a simple fix, the reasoning as to why it occurred just baffles me.

After I selected the US localization, the game began picking up input from a second controller in my port. A Steelseries 3GC controller. While I do have a primary controller for other games, my Steelseries is generally reserved for an F2P game called Lost Saga. I find it weird that I've had it connected the entire time and it never interfered with my gameplay.

I discovered the solution by testing it. I jumped into the tutorial then I tried to slip screen. When I did, I noticed the additional ports available. I selected different control ports for Player 1 and Player 2, then noticed that the port with the Steelseries was effecting my movement. I guess both controllers on the same character, and at the same time, caused it to receive inputs erratically.

So...since I only really use my Steelseries for Lost Saga, or Fight N' Rage, I disconnected it from it's port.

Problem solved. Mhm.

Attached is just a silly image of what I was looking at. This is after I disconnected the controller.

I know this is WAY late for the person that posted this, but maybe this will help someone else.

I've have a similar problem in which my character would only face one direction. Mine started after getting hit in combat while switching weapons from bow to sword while I was zoomed in for targeting. I fixed mine by switching weapons a couple times then switching to bow then zooming in and out and it was fixed - my toon moved normally once again.
