My wife and I have slowly been playing through the original vsn of the game. I have heard good things about the Soroboreans DLC, and bad things about the Definitive Edition (buggier than the original game). Regardless, we have a save many hours in and so can't do Definitive now. It sound like Soroboreans adds some good things, and it is cheap on GOG now, so I was thinking of getting it, but I have heard things like the fact that it introduces a corruption mechanic in all zones, with no way to cure it except the DLC zone, which seems dumb. Is there a way I can buy it during this sale, but keep it deactivated until we are ready? I really really don't want to accidentally mess up or lose our only save. Not sure when I would activate the DLC, but we haven't joined a faction despite being like 80 hours in. No spoilers please if possible. Thanks!

Once you buy the DLC, it'll be active. However, there are potions, enchantments, and gear to counter corruption that can be had in a number of different places outside Harmattan and the Antique Plateau. Also, if your corruption level isn't too high, it will decrease over time - lots and LOTS of time! Fair warning, though, it takes like a week or more to lose 1% corruption...
