Hi there,
Again and again : wow, wow, wow, Outlaws !!! Thank you GOG for giving us (with a little help of money of course ;) ) all Lucas Arts games. It's just awsome ! (and thank you Disney publishing for your intelligence ?).

I was wondering, how to get a 4:3 screen resolution, the good old one, instead of the 16:9 one ? That would be just perfect !
Thank you for your reply.

Best regards.

I was wondering the opposite.

The game is in 4:3 on my computer but I was hoping to get it 16:9.

There is a link that gets installed in your start menu / screen called nGlide Settings, Use that to change all the screen settings, including Resolution, Aspect Ratio, Refresh Rate, and the 3DFX intro.

Take note, however, that changing the resolution does NOT change the resolution of the Intro Video or Cutscenes. They are still 800x600 (maybe 640x480).
What I would do is adjust your monitor to show at pixel perfect sizes, and disable any built in stretching. That can make a nice difference.
Thank you for the advice. So I've tried to change screen resolution through the nglide app and nothing change, strange... I have a 8.1 pro windows.
The only solution would be too change directly the desktop resolution ? It's 1920x1080p res.

Open nglide_config and set resolution=1920x1080 and aspect ratio=4:3.

Pyron: Open nglide_config and set resolution=1920x1080 and aspect ratio=4:3.
Where would that be located? As best I can tell, although Outlaws has some Nglide files in its directory, it never actually installed Nglide.

It's in the Outlaws install directory.

Are you talking about the executable file? If so, that isn't saving settings for me. Tried all that last night.

Thanks ! it works perfectly ;)
And actually it was solved first by Pyron (i don't know how to change the status).

NoxTM: Is it possible that graphics cards override this? When I open nGlide, aside from being able to successfully disable the 3DFX logo (or not), nothing else seems to actually work; 4:3 is still full screen, resolution is no different (except when I select that the program uses my desktop resolution, and then it all works), etc. I tried to install 1.4 and use that too, no dice. I'm going to try the reg entry and change the options there, but I'm puzzled why it isn't 'sticking' in the program itself.
As Pyron said : select your desktop res (me it's 1920x1080). Indeed It's weird to have to select your current res but you HAVE to do this. Then select 4:3.
When i launch Outlaws, menus and cutscenes are in 1920x1080 BUT the ingame is in 4:3. So it works (i have a 660gtx graphic card).
Otherwise, as Zacron suggest, change your desktop res completly to have THE right res of the original game.
I would also suggest checking your monitor configuration. Scaling mode should be set to "maintain aspect ratio".
