I've been trying to figure this out for the past couple weeks, going through all the different topics in this forum made since the game was put on GoG and I can't seem to stop the game from doing this annoying "minimize-resize" delay when starting up a level.

I have had this issue with other games from this era that most of the time I just put up with because they aren't too intrusive but this is just getting frustrating for Outlaws. I've updated the nGlide to the latest version and followed some other steps I found on the PCGaming Wiki but some of the solutions don't seem to be able to work, unless I'm missing something. The 2.0.1 patch doesn't seem to want to work even though Outlaws is version 2.0 directly from GoG, unless I'm misunderstanding how patches work with downloaded games.

Maybe I'm just not fully understanding the steps needed to make Outlaws run smoothly, but I do know that some of the problems I had on one of my computers wasn't unique to Outlaws, I have designated an older computer to playing any games made before 2005 because they refuse to run properly or at all on my newest computer (some examples being that Outlaws won't display certain graphics such as the dynamite and knife sticks, the camera won't face forward in Star Wars Podracer, games like Heroes of Might and Magic won't even run). If there is anyone here who can give me some kind of a "installation for dummies" guide I would really appreciate it!
I always had this resize thingy even on older computers. The 3D objects with knives and TNT not showing in OL depends on your graphic card / driver, but it's a known issue and several solutions were posted.

the 3DO nglide thingy fixed knives and TNT for me.

A possible solution for the resize screen problem could be select desktop resolution into the Nglide configurator. That way, game and menus should theoretically be running at the same resolution. I dislike this option because it forces the graphics too much and in this game it looks too artificial for me, but, well, you can try and test it. The screen resize is annoying, indeed.
