I just started playing the game and it's not loading cutscenes (and yes, I did turn off the "disable cutscenes" option). The level just loads but there's no sound effects at all. There is background music but when I pause the game, it just turns off permanently.

My system specs are as follows:
nVidia GeForce GTX 650
Intel Core i3-3240
CPU @ 3.40Ghz
8 GB RAM
64-bit Operating System (Windows 7)

PS: Thanks for releasing this game at last!

Hi,

Please send us a Support ticket by following this link:

http://www.gog.com/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games/outlaws_a_handful_of_missions

and selecting the issue that best describes your problem from the drop down menu. Please don't forget to include as much info as possible and, most important of all, your DxDiag report :)
Yeah, I have the exact same problem here. Unplayable at the moment like this since the music and sound effect make this game. Damn, and I was so excited that I could finally play this game in 64bit on win 7.

I've made a support ticket and i hope this gets resolved quickly.

Great :) While you're waiting for a reply, please try running the game as Admin and start the game from the Start menu and don't launch the executable file directly. Also, if you see a setup program in the Start menu (I am not sure if Outlaws has one...) please try using that as well :)

I am having the same issue with sound effects in-game. I get music but no sound effects or taunts.

Tried your suggestion, No change.
I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

Okay so for everyone who is having issues with no-soundeffects and no cutscenes I got the solution for you:

Go to your GOG games / OUTLAWS folder and find the exe: OLCFG.exe

Run it and it should pop up with a config screen. If you get an error about a missing DLL, just ignore it.

Click the sound config option at the top.

Now from the options you have wich sound driver to use -> select DIRECTSOUND.

This should solve all problems you have concerning cutscenes and no sound effects.

Unfortunately this does not solve the music bugs that are in the game atm but it's a start!

Unfortunately, even with Direct Sound, I still have no sound effects in-game, though I do quite clearly hear the music. Any other thoughts?

Direct Sound test included in the OLCFG.EXE program did work.

Win x64
12GB Ram
2+TB HD
Nvidia GTX 560

Be sure to run olcfg.exe as administrator, otherwise it may not save the settings correctly. The game should prompt for administrator anyway as that's how GOG set it up, but just in case, you should use the run as administrator option for the game aswell.
