Didn't know if you were aware of the problem.
But TNT is not visible when it is tossed. I think this is just
Windows 8.

I'm having the same problem.
EDIT: I did a bit more testing and I found out that throwing knives are invisible too. After you throw them you can pick them up again but have to guess where they are.
I'm playing with the 3Dfx mode in Win 8.1. The bug happens in D3D mode too, but not in software mode.
