I think it was sad, but it wasn't a "cliche" ending, and that's innovative. I really didn't expect that: Miles "dying" (Or probably not...) and all your camera footage and evidence... Just there... Anyone is going to know what's happening in Mount Massive Asylum. Or maybe yes?

What do you think about the ending? Do you like it? No? Why?
The first thing that comes to mind is: Cube 2.
I have just finished the game and even if I was surprised, deep inside I knew something like that was going to happen.
Something feels (and is) seriously wrong, there. Wernicke, reported dead at 90 years of age is pretty much alive. The main character fails at the mission burnt priest on cross entrusted him with. And even if not, after all those hazards, cut fingers, broken camera, going through hell, they simply shoot the man down and who else, but the idiots whose fault is entirely the complete mess witnessed throughout the game.

Man that ending made me very angry. I almost wet my pants playing through this sick and psycho game, only to have it kill my running dog off! Great game, innovative ending but VERY, wrong.

Now how the hell will all this evidence go public in the game's setting? Huh? And will the player be trapped inside sphere, now that Wallrider possessed him and all? Or mere execution?

Outlast 2 is a confirmed rumor already, but it would be nice to get some answers on those matters... Damn!

If you haven't already, you should definitively play the Whistleblower DLC. I actually liked its story and characters better than the core game and it has a MUCH more satisfying ending.

Did that and boy, what a surprise... Still, though, the question remains... How will the main player's of the main game RECORDED EVIDENCE, find publicity into the game's setting?!?

The ending was pretty good. Both of them, altho the original's ending was quite predictable.

It won't.
*spoilers*
The only real contribution of the main character was leaving his car behind. The whistleblower's email was the most elaborate way to get a ride I've ever seen in my life.
