Will this game run also under Win7 64-Bit Professional ?
The original one does run, so i guess this one too. One bug I had is that I get black borders all arround the screen, cant get it to go trully fullscreeen. I wonder if they fixed that for this release.

I'll be testing it out later on I think if someone doesn't beat me to it.

That's not related to the game, it's related to your graphic cards settings. If you have a straight DVI connection, change "aspect ratio scaling" or some such option in your cards control panel to fill the screen.

Works fairly well. No real problems that I can tell. Theres a little trouble with aero, but it all changes automatically so its no real problem.
Only complaint is the resolution, but I dont think anything can be done about that
i bought this yesterday and it works fine on Win 7 Pro 64bit. the only issue is the black frame around the game screen.
not had the chance to play that much, but I can confirm it's working fine on windows 7 x64 prof.
One minor issue is that the launch window appears accross both screens on a dual monitor setup, but this is very minor.
Seems to work very well on Win7 64 bit on my system :)
I'm going to have to add this to the list of GOG's that don't work on my Win 7 64-bit machine.

The intro ran, at first, then started crashing. The only loader buttons that worked were New Game, Settings, under which only the Mouse Sensitivity slider and Accept buttons worked, and Quit. When clicking New Game, all I ever see is the following error: "OC1.exe has stopped working."
I've tried every INI tweak, every patch, running the programs directly with field identifiers and every other suggestion in the forums. Nothing fixes the game.

For the record:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit OS
AMD Phenom II 960T CPU
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 mHz
Nvidia GeForce 670 2 GB GPU
BenQ XL2420TX Monitor through Display Port
Avast Anit-virus
Comodo Firewall

Edit 6/20/2014:
After correcting a display driver error, the classic NV3DUM.dll crash error, the Outcast game now runs fine. However, the Loader buttons and such are still unresponsive.

Edit 10 minutes later:
Never mind, I fixed this by following the suggestion of ZellSF in this topic:
http://www.gog.com/forum/outcast/unclickable_buttons_on_loader/page1
Just moved my Taskbar to the bottom of the screen and all of a sudden the loader works fine... Huh. Weird.

Not necessarily. The original game runs at 512x384, and many graphics cards will scale that by setting the monitor to 640x480 and displaying the game with small black bars on all sides. Often, resolutions lower than 640x480 are not supported by modern graphics cards / monitors, so the workaround is to display in 640x480.

Fortunately, one can try the fan-made high-resolution patch (see sticky thread) to run in higher resolutions and avoid having black bars.
it also runs smooth on win8 64bit, with the hires-patch in 1280x1024. no problems at all.
The CD Version works even with Windows 7 X64.

You need one of the Patches, 1 or 2, Not 3 if you Apply patch 3 You have the CD Check bug.
don´t know if this bug was solved in patch 1 or 2 , i tried it a pair of months ago, but the resolution was the hard factor for me to buy it on gog.

Id runs great with CD version, no Stuttering, Sound is correct, but, the Resolution meh.

You must set as far as i Know the Compatibility Mode WIN ME, or 98 / 95.
or use the "Microsoft Compatibility Administrator" for further and Advanced Setup.

Best regards :)
