It would be nice if they would release the source code to make a stable and modern platform for the game to run on.
Appeal who made the game went bankrupt. My guess is that Atari is the owner of all game-related assets.

And that is IF Atari ever got the Source code from Appeal or if the source code was not destroyed after the game was no longer supported.
Such a sad thing to see this happen to large works like that.
There really should be a national archive for source code for published software. Would help ensure classics live on and can be updated.

Would prefer to see a centralized location in the U.S. with maybe several mirror locations. Countries could have their own if they chose to.

Sound crazy?
Makes sound sense. I just wish I could play Outcast, but there's extreme black flickering on my machine, and I've tried all the suggested fixes.
