Hey,

I can't change my volume. I set it to "0" in the games menu. When I start the game, it's still at 100%.
If I change it ingame (Esc -> Options -> Sound Volume) and set it to "0" (left) it immediately changes back to 100% after leaving that menu. I tried changing my Windows settings for OC1.exe, which didn't work either.

The entry in my loader.ini says: "volume=0.000000

My ears are bleeding.

I've recently begun playing and have run into the same issue, though it may behave a little differently. If I set the volume low (or zero) in the initial startup settings menu, the slider will stay there, but the actual volume in the game isn't affected. If I adjust the volume using the options menu while in the game, then yeah, it will go back to wherever it was previously after I exit the menu.

Also, as you all probably know, by default there are keys for adjusting the volume in the game without using the menu. I find that if I use those it's even worse, and strange. If I just tap the key then the slider will just move one spot then jump back. If I hold it, it will move very slowly, but when I let go it just snaps back.

Ultimately, I just ended up lowering my system sounds to play the game—down to like 7-8% wearing headphones.

The sfx/cd (sound effects / music) slider doesn't seem to have much effect, either.

Bumping to see if anyone else has experienced this or has a solution.

EDIT: Was going by memory the first time I posted this. Corrected a couple things.

the Problem is how Windows Vista or higher works with the Addressation and Communication with your Soundcard.

i tried to Fix that with "CorrectHardwareSoundID" "Use HardwareMixer" on Microsoft Compatibility Toolkit.

and if that fails. its defect ... so maybe GoG read this, and made a Compatibility Fix for it.
