I am just telling GOG and devs that this was probably my best x-mas present. The game is on my all-time top 10 list easily. Although I just installed and quickly the 1.1 version and played for some minutes and also there judging from the forum posts seems to be some bugs, I must say that this is would be in my opinion the ideal way to release old games. Not a remake as those often lose some of the original charm when the gameplay and audiovisuals are updated to current needs. But rather have the original source code and assets and fix known bugs (there have been plenty of testing done during years), allow higher resolutions if applicable, add support for current operating systems and controllers.
Thank you for doing this and most of all giving it for free to current customers. Btw sound sounds much smoother too, although I haven't read any mention that it is improved. Don't know if it is a placebo, but I recall original being a little scratchy.
