I own the original 2CD version of Outcast, but after much searching and patching I could not get it to run perfectly (as a game of this calibur deseves to be run) on Windows 7 64-bit. I picked up this copy from GOG, and it works great! The only trouble I'm having is with the subtitles: is there a way to turn them off? In the original game there weren't any subtitles, allowing the player to focus on the awesome voice acting! Is there a way to turn the subtitles off in the GOG version of Outcast?

Also, is there a way to set it up so i don't have to click the mouse after every line of dialogue in a conversation to advance to the next line (even when it doesn't go back to the topic menu)?
Example:
"Hi, I'm Cutter Slade"
*Click*
"Hi, I'm Maar"
*Click*
"Stop producing riss?"
*Click*
"Nah, Kroax is awesome"
*Click*
etc.

I don't know about the subtitles, but about the mouse clicking: no, unfortunately there's no way to disable it. You will always have to click to advance dialogue.

EDIT: I was wrong; see post below.

You should see an options screen on every start-up, where you can for example choose between "New Game" and "Load Game". You may also change the "Settings".
There's a down-arrow on the upper-left side. One click and you should see the checkbox, where you can toggle the subtitles.
And the best part: You don't have to click a button anymore to advance the dialogue with deactivated subtitles!
Didn't notice the arrow, thank you very much!
I am running in Windows 7 and cannot remove the X for subtitles in Settings. I also change outcast.ini to subtitles=0 an they still show! .
