If it never comes out DRM free, it will never exist on my SSD. They want my money, slap it down here in GOG for purchase. I absolutely love the original and have great memories of playing it. That's enough for me so if they never release the remake here on GOG I wont shed a tear.

£17 for those of us that have played and finished the original is a bit steep. I don't have any real issues with Outcast 1.1, so I will stick with the original and spend my money on something. No disrespect to the developers or anything. Just a case of "been there, done that", given that the story, characters and quests will be the same, and to me, that's the core of the game.

I'm currently playing v1.1 (before I'd played an original CD version, complete with having to manually slow my CPU to get it to work) and I'm loving it. I remember reports were that it was shaky at launch, but after lots of patches it's great, and an excellent way to play the game as it originally appeared.

I'm still excited to play Second Contact though, especially now that it's available here on GOG. It will be cool to see the game with a new lick of paint, and I'm hoping that the developers will eventually make that sequel they keep saying they want to make.

I definitely understand your viewpoint, of course. It is the same game despite the new appearance, so it's only worth a purchase for those who want to replay it and see the new graphics.
