Anyone else experiencing severe performance issues with Outcast 1.1 like me?

At 1080p, full screen, I'm getting 15-20 fps max. My system is't high-end anymore, but this is really ridiculous. Lowering the res to 1024x768, disabling bilinear filtering and limiting max voxels threads to 3 gives me about +5~7 fps.

Anyone else having these problems?

My specs:

i5 2500K @ 3,5HGhz
GTX 570
8GB RAM
Win 8.1
At the moment Steam Forum seems to be the adress:

Yes. It's because it's still very CPU dependent. I don't think the GPU does anything other than render the screen on your monitor but that's just speculation.

They seem to have some kind of plan regarding the HD version and I can't believe for a second they would add all that on the old engine or this 1.1 one without GPU acceleration so if performance is important my advise is to wait. I'll be definitely be waiting. :)
Disable Vsync! I was getting 15fps on a 3.2GHz Quad Core and GTX780, now get 40-45fps but it's still bad performance!
Disable VSync can work, it didn't help too much for me though but it might depend on your hardware and software setup.

But I read that disabling bilinear filtering can help a great deal when there are many polygon counts on the screen. Refer to this thread where a user tested it: Performance issues

Bilinear filtering enabled with a high polygon count: 18FPS vice versa 42FPS. That said, the user in question has a i7 and a GTX770 so your result might be different. It's worth a try though.
