Peppermonkey: I am running Windows 8 64-bit.

I installed the GOG version of Outcast. After clicking New Game, the resolution changes, I see the first frame of the loading screen, and it shows "OC3.exe has stopped working"
I have this installed on a different drive than the main drive, and I have the main shortcut to run as administrator in a windows xp SP3 compatibility mode.

Nothing I have tried has fixed this issue.
This was working in Windows 7 before I upgraded to Windows 8.
I downloaded Outcast today, installed it on my Windows 8.1 laptop and had the same problems. OC3.EXE "stopped working". By going into Properties and setting compatibility to Windows 98/ME and Run as Administrator (re: START,EXE, LOADER.EXE, OC1.EXE, OC2.EXE and OC3.EXE), the program actually runs just fine. I have an Intel HD 4000 and NVIDIA GT635M. No alterations to the graphics card settings were made.
