Hello everyone!

I've seen the posts related to Windows XP, but in my case the issue is with Windows 8.1 :(

I have 1.1.3.18756 installed. I get the sound effects, but no music whatsoever. And that's a shame as I remember it being awesome from the original game.

Has anyone else encountered that issue? What can I do to fix this?

Have you sent in a support ticket? GOG doesn't check the forums much. Support tickets will get a faster and better response.

... whatever you have it is NOT a Win8.1 64bit issue, since - I too - am running that OS version and have music in my GOG version.

Have 1.1 rev 4 (build 18788) on 8.1 Pro 64-bit and music is fine. And yea. it is outstanding.

here's a post from a developer:

Several players solve this issue by downloading FFDSHOW codec paks

The game indeed relies on DirectShow for playing back the music.

If there's no DirectShow mp3 filter installed on the machine, it will not crash but you'll not be able to hear these awesome soundtracks :) And as a side effect, this could highly impact the performances.
