What can I say? This game did blow my mind back in 1999 and it still has the same effect.
The best parts are the general atmosphere and awesome soundtrack.
You quite rarely tumble over a game that has such great soundtrack. These days I don't even pay any notice if games has or has not any music in them. But this one gets the chills run down by your spine with just the audio part.
I love this game!
PS. Yeah, there are some RPG elements with shooting, but heck... The soundtrack!!! ;)
I couldn't agree with you more!!! I've just started playing outcast again and I'm still finding things I never even thought of looking for before.
And well it seems if you want a good soundtrack getting the moscow symphony and chorus is a good idea! (They did an amazing job)
I finished it a few weeks ago and I'm still missing the game, nothing else like it out there.
lol i suppose you noticed in okriana that some talan play "we wish you a merry chrismass" or "binary sunset" (from star wars) with their flutes.

Tonight was my first night at Talanzar, and i noticed it, he sucks by the way, but it was so funny to hear it!
I missed this game when it came out...mostly because i couldn't run it!

Then by the time i could, i had forgotten about it. The music is so amazing, just wonderful atmosphere. The characters are great and it sucks you in like few other games do.

I always wanted to play it and thanks to GOG i can now.

Here here, I thought this game would be lost forever to the travesty that is compatability issues. I barely got it working on xp, but with no twon-ha riding or proper movement speed, and I got it going ok in win7, but the music wouldn't turn down for conversations like it's supposed to, making the game virtually unplayable (no immersion = lose). So thankful the people at gog have brought this classic back to life! Now to resume my (fruitless, doomed from the start) mission of spreading the word about this masterpiece to all my friends!
