I've been lurking around the board now thinking if I should get this game.

The only thing that scares me is that if it uses a wrapper to run or requires massive amounts of .ini file tweaking for the game to feel "seemless". Seeing as my holliday break is the only time I get to spend playing some of these games, would I need special modifications to get it to run a 1366x768? I'm willing to compromise screen detail and just let it run at its maximum setting "for its time". To me, so long as the game doen't crash or anything serious happen (like I-War: Deluxe Edition) while playing, then I'm fine.

Of course, I could always just get Aquanox/Aquanox 2 for the second time.

You don't need any tweaking at all! You can just install and run it. The "problem" is the relatively low resolution of less than 640x480 by default. But you just need little additional work to install the HiRes Patch (see this forum) to get it running in about twice the resolution.

Does this patch support 16:9 resolutions such as 1366x768?

It doesn't go as high as 1366x768, but does support 1280x960, which is a 16:9 res.

I think you mean 1280x720 . :-)
