Dear GOG community, I just purchased this game (Outcast), but I'm having some difficulty getting it to run. The game seems to download correctly, the file integrity check doesn't seem to fail, I'm able to see the opening cinematic and get to the popup screen (and the face) with the New Game, Load Game and Settings options. I click New Game, but all I get is a black screen. If I alt-tab around, I see another error box with the message "Direct Draw Error: Action not supported."

I've tried a couple of things like disabling UAC and reinstalling the 2010 version of DirectX, but nothing has made a difference so far. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Okay, some experimentation reveals that fixing this is as simple as installing the Hi-Res Patch / V3 Megapatch stickied on the Outcast board.
