Hello i bought this game today and it doesn't start it keeps asking for the DVD but has you guys now i don't have that. Has someone solved this problem before?

PC i'm trying to play the game:

W7 64bits
8GB RAM
AMD HD5770 1GB of VRAM
I think this happens for several games when you have no DVD drive. The solution is most likely to install something like this : http://www.slysoft.com/fr/virtual-clonedrive.html

You'll have a virtual DVD where you can mount DVD images.
No i have a DVD drive what i don't have is a DVD of the game because i bought the GoG version. But thanks for the reply.
Hi,

never heard of something like this.

Outcast gog-versioin should not use any copy protection. I would contact gog support, maybe there are some incompatibilites with other programs like Any DVD or so.

Did you already un- and reinstall the game?
Yes i already re-installed the game 3 times, whats funny is that the message is asking for a DVD with the name of the external drive where i installed the game, in my case is asking for USB3disk (the name of my exHD).

Edit: Delgado thanks for the help! Going to the gog support was the best advice that someone could have giving me :D , because of that i found this Solution, the game works now.

Nice to hear that :)

You do mean this part?
Hi Guys!
We have done some late night research of this problem, and it turns out, that this is somehow connected to the partition's name, for some magical reason...
The temporally fix for that is this:
1. Go to the game's main folder, find the "OUTCAST.ini" file and open it using any text editor (notepad will do).
2. Find the following lines:
cd_intro_label=DATA
cd_music_label=DATA
and delete the part after the "=" sign:
cd_intro_label=
cd_music_label=
Note that the "DATA", in the above example, can be anything, it is just the name of your partition.
3. Save the file
4. run the game
5. ??????
6. PROFIT!!!!
Let us know if this fix works for you (preferably both, here in this thread and by sending a Support ticket along) and we'll update our installer so that you won't have to go through all this trouble in the future. ;)
I hope i remember that, if i will install the game the first time on Win7 Pro x64. I only played it on XP before.
