I have looked all over, but i am not close. I am not even sure what side of the city he is on. Is there some sort of landmark nearby? Not one Talan has yielded a topic choice to ask about him. I have found Shamaz Zokrace. I have found Zelb's bar. I have rescued Marion. I am not even close to finding Kaleb.

Isn't Shamaz Kaleb the shamaz in Okasankaar?
He is on top of a few sets of stairs (he also makes a comment about it). Actually finding a shamaz isn't that hard as he is the light blue circle on your map. ;-)

I have only one light blue circle on the map, and that is for Shamaz Zokrace. No other circles. As I said, I do not know even what side of the city he is on. I have spoken to every Talan, and there is no choice to ask about Kaleb. I think the game got turned around.

No no, you're in the wrong region. Shamaz Kaleb is in Okansankaar - the swamp region with the fishermen.
NOT in Talanzaar, the oriental city region where Zokrace is.

well, I have consulted three walkthroughs, and not one mentions what you say. Thanks. I was rather dubious of there being any water as I looked around. Mucho thanks for straightening me out.
