GoG was, is and probably will be, my favorite digital distribution platform for buying games.

There is a big november patch that landed on Steam for Othercide today. I was looking eagerly for the update, but neither official or discord announcements spoke of the GoG release.

So I asked one of focus team's members about it.

I got this reply:


Hello ! The GoG version is not updated at the same time
It is assured that it will be updated within 2 weeks :slight_smile:

I inquired about the cause:

Is there a reason why a PC patch on a digital distribution platform arrives 2 weeks later than on an other?
Considering you are releasing the patches for PS and switch at the beginning of december?

To which they kindly replied:

There are, yes. Mainly Technical issues that make the production and debugging of 2 slightly different versions depending on the store they release on

I will wait patiently, but I can't help and frown upon this. The PS and Switch updates will land at the beginning of December, but GoG, a PC release is scheduled up to 2 weeks?

Anyone else having problems with Plague Guards hitting your daughters from across the map without using any special skills or abilities? It makes no sense, and is really frustrating. A Plague Guard will swing at the air in front of him and then a daughter on the other side of the map takes damage?!!

I see Othercide has been updated from version 6.2992 to version 7.14 sometime this month (December); changelog confirms it's the "November Patch".

Strangely the Updated filter for my game library did not notify me that Othercide had been updated.

Yep, it happens sometimes. Less often than before, but it happens none the less. It's a weird bug.
