I know it may sound offensive when comparing labour of love with something, but without first hand experience it is hard to make an assessment without reference.

Judging by description, video and screenshots, this game looks like a relative to Banished: "peaceful" city builder without much or any "research" tree and other imposed limitations (like Cities: Skylines), yet with improvements over Banished model. in terms of animation of construction process any some other.

Can you please, give a more detailed description of this game? As it looks exactly as game I'd like to buy and sink some time into.

Thanks.

https://ostrivgame.com/home/ The official game site is here, perhaps in the roadmap you will find the answer you need.

Judging by that site's description, game indeed looks like Banished relative with more branching and complexity. Not sure whether it'll be good complexity, but so far game looks quite the promising.
Yes, the game is very much like Banished.

As it is still in an early development stage, it has not yet the many items and production chains as Banished.
The differences I've found are that the paths are not built (as in banished), but trampled by the people., farms can have many fields and there is a crop rotation, trading is done with other cities and not with a (randomly appearing) merchant.
Haven't played Banished for some time so that's all I remember now.

Was Banished only 90°? Well, Ostriv is not, you may rotate all objects, a big plus!

Oh, and it looks nicer than Banished, IMHO

Thank you very much, that's the exactly the description I was looking for. And, probably, a game as well.:)
Looks nice.
