Orwell 1.2 was released on Steam in October. When will this version appear on GOG?

They also did not announce anything about episode 2 here.

Guess it is abandonware now. :)

Nevertheless, I really enjoyed my work as a government agent and was able to finish the game. That 1.2 is more about performance tweaks it looks like.
Maybe they release a final fixed version right when the next episode is released here?
Yes, Orwell seems to be orphaned on GOG. Like so many games. Has GOG changed its name to Good Orphaned Games lately?
The changelog on for 1.2 on Steam indicates more than minor changes. Actually, the list is quite impressive:

This game is really an awesome experience. Though I don't like the idea of buying a game about a surveillance state on a platform like Steam, I might get season 2 there for the sake of better support.

For me it seems that the changes from v1.2 are implemented in the current v.1.1.6 (at least on my linux version), aren't they?

There is no changelog in my library. I purchased Orwell on day one, so I assume it is the original version. Version 1.1.6 is shown in-game. It is the version that I downloaded and installed right after release.

I also hope we get the update anytime soon :( Would be a shame if it wouldn't be available on GOG, but I assume it's more the developers/publishers fault than GOG's, isn't it?
Yes it's entirely up to the developers to push updates.
GOG only has a 24 hour testing period which after the update get's accepted (or rejected if there are problems with it).

It's GOG's platform with GOG's rules. Obviously, GOG were in touch with Orwell's developers before releasing Orwell 2. This would have been a good opportunity to insist on the update.

Moreover, Orwell: Ignorance is Strength considers some of the player's choices made in Orwell 1. Changelog for 1.2 says that savegames are no longer compatible. Therefore I consider this as a serious issue. I don't want to augur on whom to blame, but from a customer's perspective that's certainly not my duty to sort that out.

Exactly! This issue kept me from buying the nicely priced bundle, when IiS came out.
Oh I completely agree that it's quite an serious issue looking at the save game story.
This is however still something the devs themselves need to push. It's not the task of GOG to keep devs asking for updates, they're just a distribution platform. We as customers however could contact GOG or the developers directly about this to ask about the status. When contacting GOG the forums might not be the correct place, customer support would be better.

Thank you for your opinion, really. But to be honest, I think that we should sometime continue this discussion about GOG's or dev's tasks in the general discussion forum. The topic here is "Where is v1.2?"

Oh sure, I din't meant to stop the discussion, that's a good thing because we're talking about it. :)
I work at a customer support myself, so I know forums could be 'forgotten' easily due to the great amount of topics. But the discussion about it is quite important however as it gathers more people together about the desire for the update.

Finally, 1.2.x.y is available on GOG.
