...I never cared for the swearing in the game. It got a bit tiring to her what's her name say over and over, "watch my a**" and other lines.
Other than that aspect I remember this game as a lot of fun, but I never finished it but I got quite far into it.
Is there a good ending?

Do you mean good as in satisfying ending or good as in everyone lives happily ever after? There are total of 4 endings: american or soviet victory and alliance ending for both sides. I liked Alliance endings (more on american side) the most and it's probably the best or 'true' ending. I also liked American side generally better both story and gameplay wise. Soviet side felt more restriced in both character choises and what you could do in missions. I also did not particularly like Soviet main character (I fail to see how alliance ending could possibly happen on Soviet side).
Arabian/Legion story arch could have been interesting but unfortunately there's no such campaign.
Hopefully I did not spoil too much :)
No, as I am not going to be playing it again. I bought it at Gamestop when for like a buck something (they were trying to get rid of it), so no loss.
Thanks for the info.

No problem. Game is rather linear (choise of staying loyal to your country or joining alliance and wether or not you kept your people allive or not) so there's not much replay value after you've seen all four endings.
Good game overall even with the frequent CTD's I experienced between missions (fortunately they almost always happened in transition from one mission to next so nothing was lost as I could restart the game and continue to next mission without problems)
Four endings does not give you enough replay value?!?! Man you're demanding!
Its great how every character has unique things to say, none of that general "unit acknowledgment" stuff a lot of the other RTS.
Really cool how the objectives you receive in the begining of the mission are not set in stone for all the missions. I failed to get enough of that mineral in that forest map within the time limit but then the commander checked in and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could bargain for more time! And it worked!
As for the ending, I haven't seen them yet, hope to return to the game and finish it sometime though, as the whole game was very nicely done.

There's not really much to see in a mission after you've completed it once (unless you failed to meed secondary objectives) so there really is no replay value as mission outcomes are always the same (you either win and go to next mission or lose and try again). Nota that it's problem with RTS games in general, not just OW and at least it has 4 endings compared to usual 2.
The bigger problem for me was the Soviet side. You are VERY restricted in what you can do in some missions and in some you pretty much have to do things 'the right way' to win. There are cople absolutely anoying missions I would never ever want to see again. I also disliked Soviet main character. Endings were also worse than on American side and characters generally duller.

Yes indeed the game is linear. If there was a skirmish AI then we would be in perfectly good business. By the way, I remember now, wasn't there a Steam HL-2 mod with pics years ago about a remake of OWar? I remember they only had a few 3d models of like the soviet bunkers when I looked it up a while back, but I think they might be gone. Lemme check.....
Nope, nothing on Google. I bet it went the way of the dinosaurs. Shame because the mod had promise.
