VanishedOne: History repeats itself. :-(

Petrell: Except this time it's worse as this time Bohemia Interactive is pulling out of GOG taking all of it's games with it. :-(. It also probably means Bohemia Interactive intends to go Steam only from now on. :-(
Original War will still be obtainable DRM Free as OW has no DRM on any platform (If it ever did you just need to patch to the latest version to remove it).

How are people who can't or don't want to use Steam going to legally aquire OW if it goes Steam only? No game should be tied to single store, ever.

Hopefully you'll continue to support GOG version even after it's pulled from sale here so people who purcased it here can continue to enjoy your patches.

There is no difference between GOG, Steam, Retail, {Insert Platform Here}. Thats why the patches work on everything, its not tied to one platform or another (Granted it will connect to steam to do the achievements if you own OW on steam but it doesn't require steam, its just compatible).
For some reason, the game is gone again, along with the Arma series. Did Bohemia just leave GOG?

Yes.

Big mistake. Boycotting them now. Even when I did buy Bohemia's buggy crap (Gaea Mission still broken in a lot of ways) I only bought them at a huge discount. Just sad that people cannot get this classic anymore, this game and the UFO:AfterX games from Altar are timeless greats and don't deserve the beating they got from the company going belly up and being acquired by Bohemia.
Sad, the so independant devs become whores of Steam..

Oldski: We're still working on the licencing issue, it's simply taking longer than expected but we hope to resolve it soon.
I hope you get that soon....

In my case more for the X-Com series..

I NEED X-COM UFO DEFENSE !! (yes the very first one..)

It's been years since I have last laid a good trap for the aliens inside that battleship..

Although stuff like UFO Aftermath and stuff like that is ok..gamewise ?..no match for the first one..

(No plane control during battle, no base layout changing, no base placement, ugh..it has a lot of stuff that the newer ones do not have..)

Besides..the endless hustling of spaceships..not knowing if they'd land or not..'timetravelling' to shoot them in the past so they'd not get away in the future..

(hey..if they don't land at all, so you can plunder them..you gotta shoot them right ?..)

You can play OpenXCOM... just google it... it's pretty awsome
You'd still need a regular version of XCOM for it to work..

Yes..too bad..
Go figure XCOM conversations under an Original War thread. I'd rather talk about toilet training cats. Anybody up for a good non-related discussion?
