Hi there,

If like me, you are cannot spend endless hours in front of the computer. Then the limited save system really does become a problem, where you are trying to save as little as possible to preserve the rings . Wasn't such a big deal the first time I played the game

I found a Save Game Editor that will enable you to give yourself up to 250 Rings (i.e. save tokens). This definitely enables me to step away from the game when life intrudes. The editor also allows you to edit your stats etc. But I won't be using that this play through. I still think it is fair as you can only save at specific spots anyway.

It can be downloaded from the link at the bottom. Like always download at your own risk.

I have tried it and it works like a charm for me. Just put the file called NomadPatcher.exe in your game directory and run it to enable you to edit the saves.

I love this game, but I second using an editor to give yourself infinite rings.

An assembly-level hack to relegate rings to strictly being extra lives and hints, and having saving be free would be preferable. Probably wouldn't be too hard, either, since you just need to short circuit the bit of code that reduces the ring counter on saving.

Yes, that is a good idea. Forgot about the hint system.
Thank you so much, Ravenvolf!

I remember the "save-problem" from the first time, too, back there in 1999 or when it was. I hated it, the only really stupid idea in this game. I mean, yes, there is something called "real life", and I cannot always play as long as I want (and I like to try things without not having another chance... that too).

Finally I can save as often as I want - and I am a really "save"-player.
Once again - thanks!
Thanks! I appreciate this a lot. Now I'll just have to keep an eye on the amount of rings as they seem to be useful for other stuff than just saving and I only want to use the editor to make saving unlimited.
A limited saving system may be suitable for platformers, but they have no place in a RPG, especially an open-world one. I'm glad there's this editor to rectify that little mistake of the game designers.
I know i'm more than 10 years late, but i was looking for ages for a save game patch from a site that doesn't seem completely dubious. So, even if the original poster doesn't see this, i wanted to leave a sincere Thank You!
