I've played the GOG version of Omikron before, but now on the cut and dialogue scenes, I get a black bar across the top fifteen percent of the screen and the bottom seems to be cropped off by the same amount. As a result, I cannot see the dialogue choices or what the characters are saying. I've tried every available screen resolution and they are all the same. Game play seems to be otherwise normal.
