I’m aware that the Steam version has both x86 and Apple silicon support.
But GOG version does not work well with Apple silicon devices.
Without any configuration, the game launches but does not show the menu and only shows the background map image so I can’t start playing the game.
The current workaround is to enable Rosetta so macOS can run x86 binaries, but this obviously impacts performance.

My question is why is there no apple silicon support on GOG and is there any plan to support in near future,
Only Steam supports delivering native M1 builds. Intel Macs are supported by Gog. Normally the Rosetta translator should automatically be activated by the Galaxy Launcher, since it is itself a x86 executable.

The GOG version does have Apple Silicon support now.

However, to use that you need to start the game manually - not from GOG Galaxy. If I manually start and check in activity monitor, the kind is Apple Silicon. If started from GOG Galaxy, the kind is Intel.

The probable reason is that it is started from an Intel application... all the more reason for GOG to add Apple Silicon to GOG Galaxy, after all it's been available for a couple of years now.
