I boot up the game and I can't use the mouse or keys to select any of the menu options, I'll hit random keys and the game will start sometimes but I skipped the first cut scene and the game froze, I then used task manager to exit the game and booted it up again, I let the cut scene play through and then it froze before abe drops down on the first level. Can anybody help with this? I really want to play this game again.

I found ddhack_abe, that fixed the game and made it playable, but I just cant quit the game properly, seems its a common issue. I should of looked harder on this board before posting.

I think DDhack should be integrated in the GoG version, cause maybe not all people are technically experienced enough to use something like DDhack. I know, it sounds silly but many people just want to PLAY and don't bother with stuff like this.

If somebody, who is technically unexperienced, wants to experience Abe 1, maybe for the first time EVER, and then realizes the game freezes, he probably won't ever try to play it again. Think about it, GoG people.
