I was reluctant to create this topic because I really hate unnecessary topics about subjects discussed over and over again. But I'm really enjoying this game and would like to find a way to make it work as best as possible, if possible.
First I'm not having issues, crashing etc with the game whatsoever, I just want to make the game look as good as it can look(for that game of course, nothing out of context here).
I noticed whatching some videos on youtube that some versions of this game are better-looking than the one I'm playing, PS 1 versions and even some on PC, but the game doen't look that good on my PC. It's a 640x480 resolution stretched to 1920x1080. Doesn't look horrible, but it's not the prettiest image. Abe is a little blurry and the background images doesn't look so good. And those youtubers play on such a nice resolution. Is it just me or others don't have this problem?
If anyone can help I'm ready to listen.
Just so you guys know, I tried many different things, using DxWnd, DDhack, messing around with NVidia's Control Panel, most of the suggested solutions, but nothing really seems to improve resolution. Is there a way to play on a better resolution or is this the game as it's supposted to be?
Sorry if the topic is repetitive.
Edit: Forgot to mention the game is Abe's Oddysee.

Have you already tried this DDhack:

I have tried this DDhack already, but just did it again just to be sure. It improves on the resolution but leaves the screen on a 4:3 format, if there is no other better solution I'm accepting this one. Thank you for helping! :)

You're welcome. Unfortunately there's no widescreen solution that I know of. Before the DirectDraw hack it wasn't even possible to get any resolution higher than 640x480 in the PC version.

GoG team did a great jog making this game work fine. I won't try to make any changes or it might ruin it. You know the saying, "Don't fix what's not broken". Thanks anyway
The link to the ddhack download in the link provided by DeMignon seems to be down. Anyone know of an alternate location?
