Hi, want to get the game but not sure if my system is good enough. Processor is AMD Athlon II X4 620. Will it work? Thanks.

It more depends on your graphics card.
I would recommend an highend Geforce/Radeon Series 9 With 2 Gig upwards.
Also i strongly recommend to install the Game on an SSD drive.
Every time you teleport to an other plane the game has some heavy loading time.
Later at the game you have to do this a lot.

AFAIK Athlon II is ~ 5 Years old. In this case the CPU/Mainboard wouldn't be fast enough to take full advancement of the GPU and SSD. Maybe you should put an new gaming rig on your christmas whishlist, if you want to enjoy obduction.

The Game is beautiful, but it's not optimised and has much higher hardware requirements that other games.
I am thinking of getting Obduction but don't think my system will handle it. (Love all the Myst games which run fine)

Laptop with:

Intel 2020M Processor (2 x 2.4GHz)

8GB Ram

Win 7 Pro 32 bit

Intel HD Graphics - total available graphics memory 1551MB

External monitor at 1920 x 1080 res.

Can anyone advise please?

Thanks

If possible, save your pennies for a desktop for home use as they are far, far better for gaming. But to your more immediate query, working with what you have, GOG has a 30-day tech warranty--if you cannot get the game to run satisfactorily they'll first try and help you and if that doesn't work they'll give you a refund. So you shouldn't worry about giving it a shot...!

Fail:
Minimum system requirements - Windows: 7 SP1 64 bit or newer

Right...;) I was thinking about the original poster's 64-bit cpu when I replied--in a hurry, I guess. Many people still run 32-bit OSes on their 64-bit cpus--so for them, switching to a 64-bit OS is possible and highly recommended. But Intel shipped a lot of 32-bit Core 1 cpus, so in that case he would not be able to run a 64-bit executable under any conditions.
I have all the system requirements. However, can this game be played with only a touch screen and not using a mouse?

Obduction was not tested on any touch screen computers - only using controllers or keyboard/mouse.

You can try using a touchscreen, but it's not officially supported.
