Whenever I start a new game it just shows the loading screen. I get a pop-up about how I can reach the menu but after that, no change. I can hear background music though and if I move my mouse, I can hear the sound shift. I already re-installed it twice and I'm now verifying my installation via GOG Galaxy.

Weird thing is, my Avast virus scanner gave me a pop-up about obduction.exe. The second run I disabled Avast, still no dice :(

The 'changing language dance' worked after a little fiddling around, I got past the stuck loading screen.
My new problem is that I now crash with a 'Fatal Error' instead, after maybe 30 seconds. No further clue to what caused the crash...

Thanks for posting it here man, I really appreciate it.
Changing it in the main menu didn't work for me. I had to go into settings then scroll through all the languages until it was back at English before it worked.

This worked well when I was starting a new game, but when I was loading my savegame I got the same problem again. I have tried changing the language in different ways, but it does not help in loading my old game. Are there other solutions to this problem, or can we expect a patch that will fix this?
Unfortunately this game was released with some very nasty bugs still present.
I've also experienced this loading screen bug and the only way to get around it, is changing the language settings.

You don't need to set a different language and then quit and restart the game.
You can just change the language from English to French (or Russian) and back, and that will suffice.

One must also do this before loading a savegame.

Strange this thing got past the playtests. Lets hope Cyan will release a proper patch soon enough. The game can use a couple of fixes.

Unfortunately, this game takes a long time to load. If you have a loading screen that's moving, just stay patient and wait it out. It will load after a while. I've waited up to ten minutes to load at times.
We are very sorry for this bug. Being stuck at the loading screen (with the circle loading animation frozen) is frustrating!

This bug had to do with the OS being set to a language that was not supported by Obduction. Obviously an edge fail case that was not tested.

There is a fix on the way and should be on GoG before the end of next week.
