Thanks for your support! Sorry to hear you are experiencing this problem.

This is the first report I've received for this specific problem - if I could gather some information from you, it would be helpful to know -

a) do you see any error message? It doesn't sound like it, but wanted to confirm.

b) regarding "the game simply turns off" - does the application window close? Or does the application window stay open and the video screen within it goes blank?

c) Mac or Windows? Which version?

Thanks.

Thanks for the information!

I tried to launch Nox Archaist on my Window laptop and was unable to reproduce the crash. Reproducing is an important tool in identifying the source of the problem.

The game runs in GOG Galaxy using an Apple II emulator. Would you be up for installing a different Apple II emulator, MicroM8, and see if the game crashes? This gives us an important clue either way, and if it doesn't crash it also gives you a workaround.

Here are the steps to do this -

1) Download Micro M8

https://paleotronic.com/software/microm8/download/

2) Locate the Nox Archaist HDV file in your GOG Installation Folder
In GOG Galaxy, From the installed Games page, right click then select Manage Installation and in the next menu select Show Folder. See attached screenshot for an illustration,

This file will be used in step 3.

3) Follow the steps in this walkthrough video to setup AppleWin and launch Nox Archaist

If you have any questions just let me know!
This worked. Thanks!

another thing i noticed, the crash happens when the game is booted, if i manage to click fullscreen fast enough just when the emulator is starting it's not crashing and the game stays fullscreen, but when i click to make it a smaller window again it crashes as before. Alt+enter produces the same effect
