It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The intro movie (at least) blinks black every second or so, and then the moving bits get filled back. This is rather annoying.

System: win7 64bit. Happens on both ati and nvidia cards, which makes it surprising that nobody else has mentioned about this.

I tried toggling a few options, no help.
I get the very same effect and I suspect more than one or two of us do - the problem is with older games the filckering is expected by many of us with newer graphics cards. I get it on a few games where either the movies flickr or (worse) where it flickrs in game the whole time.
I figured since nobody's complained about this yet that there might be some easy fix =)

I suppose I *could* do another directdraw hack for this, but I'd rather not.. At least it doesn't affect actual gameplay.
Just figured I'd let you guys know that your not alone.
I've got this problem too <.<
I do guess it's minor, since it doesn't affect the main game play.
LOL I've got the same problem too

Running GAME.EXE instead of NOX.EXE resolved a cursor flickering / sound stutter issue for quite a few folks. Easy enough - so perhaps worth trying for this issue as well?
I am running Windows 7 64 bit and cant even get the game to work. See my post about corrupted graphics.

thanks

I can see black screen only with NOX videos on Win7 64bit.
Those videos were made by VQX(Vector Quantized Animation) codec.

I found "Game Media Formats Core Filters Package"
http://cncforums.com/new/local_links.php?catid=69&linkid=229
,it work with mediaplayer, but don't work with NOX.
Also having same issue with black pixels during cinematics. ATI Radeon HD5850 with latest Catalyst 12.4 drivers.

It's a bummer it's the only way we can watch these videos, but it's better than nothing. Since Nox doesn't seem to have any actual cutscenes midgame it works out okay. Anyway, thanks for the link.
