Playing for the first time. My character is a fighter. No problems, everything's peachy... but I'm gonna go crazy if someone can't tell me why SOME chests "sparkle" inside when opened, and others don't. Am I missing some kind of secret loot or something?

Dont know what you mean. Is it after u opened the chest? The items sparkle in the dark a bit, so maybe there is one right under the chest?!

Well, I've played through and completed Nox now as all three character types. Fun game -- short enough to end before you get bored.

But this one thing kept happening, and I never did understand it. I've attached two screenshots.

The first screenshot shows a closed chest, sparkling. OK, thanks for telling me there's treasure here, Mr Chest.

The second screenshot shows the same chest after I've opened it, STILL SPARKLING. This is what confuses me. Not all chests do this, but SOME chests do. Is there additional treasure hiding beneath the chest, where I can't get it?

Is this a bug, or am I missing out on something...?

Nah, it's nothing.

I can't recall exactly, but I think this is just a visual bug. It's been a while since I last played, but I recall the same thing happening to me once or twice.
