I can´t launch the game because Avast doesn´t stop to mark as trojan the game.exe.

I have informed of false positive, but I CAN´T play..always I try to launch the game, it moves the game.exe to the vault.

Maybe is fault of Avast..but happen with the CD version? And couldnt Gog repair the files? I have tried to put exception in Avast, but I just can´t...anytime I open the game, bamn : \

In order to make the games DRM free, GOG have to strip out stuff from the executables, such as CD checks. Sometimes they use existing No CD cracks that can be found on the net. Anyway, because the executables are therefore modified ones, sometimes virus scanners detect them as threats, but they are always false positives as GOG are a reputable game distributor and wouldn't be distributing viruses. The CD version wouldn't have a modified exe, so wouldn't be likely to be identified as a virus.

Just to make it clear, it isn't something that GOG need to repair, the files are fine, intact and correct.

You can contact Avast support to make them aware of the false positive, and contact GOG support to let them know that the game is being detected as a virus (so they can also contact Avast and whoever else regarding the false positive to get some more weight behind it).

Other than that, you should be able to put in an exception on the folder where you have the game installed. You say you've tried this but it hasn't worked. How did you go about doing it? Maybe you are missing some step?

I just had the same problem and have solved it.

I went to the File System Shield page, then clicked on settings. From here I went to the Autosandbox area and 'added' my folder containing the Nox GOG files to the 'exclude from autosandbox'. This tells Avast to ignore anything in that folder and its sub folders.

I also 'restored' the Nox files that Avast had put ino the Virus Chest. Got to Maintenance, then chose Virus Chest from menu on left hand side. Right click on the Nox files it has selected and thern choose 'Restore'.

After this I did a reboot, and everything now works!

Good luck.
Thx both of you for the help : ) It finally works, but didn´t work with the "sandbox exception", but with the "general exception" (shields and analysis, being the major problem the shield).

And I trust in Gog, really, because that I have purchased lot of games (and thx to them, I could finally play Lands lore 3, a game with so many troubles nowdays).

But wouldn´t be the first time that a company´s software could have viruses and because that I wanted to warn them, because maybe something was wrong and to report this issue to Avast.

Thank you very much again : )

No problem.

Just to add - after I thought it was fixed, I suddenly had crashes when trying to load a save game file. It appears to be fixed by creating a shortcut from Game.exe rather than Nox.exe??

No, if you only create shortcut from Game.exe it won't work. You have at the beginning change the compatibility. I mentioned it in this post - http://www.gog.com/forum/nox/nox_does_not_work_at_all_win_7_64bit_thats_a_no_go/post21

Stop avast agents for 10 minutes, install the game running the installer as an administrator.
Add the game as an exception in avast.
Play the game.
Profit.
