tekhedd: Works beautifully for me. Windows 10 Pro, fairly dated audio and an old GTX970.
Nettacki01: I don't think OpenNox is detecting my install of Nox. Every time I try to run it, it fails to detect the install and immediately closes.
tekhedd: I had the same difficulty getting it to find the installation--what worked for me was to make a shortcut *in* the Nox directory that pointed to the OpenNox executable. With my game in d:\games\nox and OpenNox in d:\games\opennox,
Target: d:\games\opennox\opennox-hd.exe
Start in: d:\games\nox
I am running in 1280x720, sound and works great.
The only minor problem is it does have the "high speed color cycling" highlight circles, common to high refresh rates. I hope this may eventually get tuned out by faking the refresh rate in future updates.
Interesting, I didn't try that!
In the end, for me, even though it says you don't need to, shouldn't have to and maybe even actively advises you not to, the only way I could get OpenNox to work was to copy all of the OpenNox files into the root folder of my my regular Nox installation path and just run it from there!
*edit*
I have also now renamed the old Nox.exe to 'NoxOriginal' and OpenNox_HD.exe to Nox.exe so that GOG Galaxy now launches OpenNox itelf without having to use a seperrate shortcut outside of Galaxy
