Thank you! I eventually figured it out. But, I appreciate your response.

Yup, that one fixes it, also for the free Origin version. I will check if it helps the CD version as well, when I find it
I know this is a bit later than the last comment on this thread, but I think it will still be helpful for anyone using Windows 11 that wants to play Nox. I was having the same problems when trying to play Nox. It would load up to the big NOX screen just before the game select menu and the graphics would freeze. You could hear it still running, but nothing would work. Here's what I did to fix it.

Go into the folder where you installed Nox and find the file Game.exe

Next, right click on that file and go to Properties. When that opens up, go to the Compatibility tab.

Now, set all of the settings as I have them in the attached picture below.

Click Apply.

That's it!

Now, you'll either have to redirect your current Nox game shortcut to this Game.exe file to start the game, or just drag this Game.exe file onto your desktop to make a new shortcut for it that way. Either way, it's now good to go!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestion. Just bought this game and it was starting to annoy me :) I changed the compatibilty settings as you suggested on my Win10 setup but it still crashed at the end of the intro.

However, changing the name of the Intro and Noxlogo files in the Movies folder (I just added an underscore to the beginning of both) and the game bypassed both and started fine.

Another possible fix.
