I don't see any connection details?

Also, XWIS isn't quite full of players, so why not host parties there?
Connection details?
Details on how to connect to said server.

Guess you edited them in later.

But, this is still using XWIS, the thread is titled so I thought you made a different server.

I edited them in because you asked for it, obviously.

Anyway, seems this is a very difficult concept to grasp, but you have a "lobby server", called westwood online, which XWIS took over. Basically, NoX connects to http://servserv.westwood.com (XWIS, see for yourself where it goes) for the lobby server, which then retrieves game servers. My newbie server is one of these "game servers", together with all those other servers you see here: http://noxcommunity.com/ under the "WHO IS ONLINE" box.

Ah, I see. The game server list main page of Nox Community clears it up.

(Though the main page also says Nox is free to play, when the game is clearly still being sold, aside the temporary free giveaway on Origin...)
It's as free as any old game still being sold.

Well, you apparently. In any case, we use a properly patched version and stuff, which the 'officially selling' places do not even do.

Don't GOG and Origin use the 1.2 patch with Quest?
Just download Nox from here: http://www.noxcommunity.com/ by pressing down the big special green DOWNLOAD button. Install nox and play.

Yea they do, but they do not include the "Westwood Online" components, which were part of the original CD too. Also, we have custom patches that allow NoX to run better on Windows 7+, not to forget bugfixes.
I think it's a better idea (and more legal, unless you've made an agreement with EA on making a multiplayer-only client like XWIS did for Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2) that you just distribute the patch instead of the game itself. It will then also allow users of old CDs as well as digital distribution versions to patch their games properly and be compatible with you. Not to mention how the installer will be lighter.

The WOL Shared Internet Components are hosted on XWIS as a separate download, so you can include that too: http://xwis.net/downloads/WOLAPI-0.0.0.exe
But we have made an agreement with EA on making a multiplayer-only client. It happened in 2005 if I'm not wrong. Our client is Multiplayer only and you cannot play solo mode there.
Since that time we have improved that client, fixed many bugs and released one-click installer containing Westwood Online, compatibilty patches and bugfixes and even Modding Tools for Nox.

btw: that WOL Shared Internet Component you mentioned wont help you playing nox online. Nox needs a different one.
And if you find the correct WOL somewhere you most likely fall under compatibility issues because you need SDL patch to solve that, it means another thing to download and install for you.
But ofc you are free to do all of those things if you prefer more complicated ways.

Alrightey then. But what about users of existing versions (CDs, GOG, Origin), can they get something that updates their version to yours, or can the installer of your client be used to do this?

I might hop in sometime.

There is exactly such a patch! You can find it here: http://www.noxcommunity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1367
Hey guys, anyone still play?
