Game will start flashing and won't load to the main menu screen, if i alt tab and come back to it it'll be at the menu screen but my mouse isn't there, if i click it'll make the noise like im clicking on something, but it's not there. Can't get this to work...no firewall problems or anything like that.

Before anyone is even remotely able to help you, could you please let us know your computer specifications? CPU, GPU, RAM, what operating system you're running on, those kinds of things.

It really helps to narrow down the problem, as gaming on the PC isn't as easy as people might think, there are a lot of specific hardware and software combinations that make games work on one system and not on another.

I also have this problem. I7 4770k, 16gb ram, gtx 780ti, Win 7

What usually works:

1.)Right click on the game icon
2.) Click on "properties"
3.) Go to "compatibility" tab
4.) Under "Run in compatiblity mode for" , select "Win 98 / Windows Me"
5.) Under settings, check the boxes for : "disable visual themes", "disable desktop composition" and "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
6.) Check the box for "Run this program as administrator"
7.) Click OK and run the game and have many fun-fun hours

If all this doesn't work, some deeper juju is at work and you'll have to send a dxdiag to support.

TY TY i cant believe i didn't think of this, been a while since i played a really old game.

Tried running this today, MSI GT 72 Dominator Pro, Window 8.1, 64 bit. GTX 980M, 8GB. 32GB RAM

Had the first two videos play, then when it's supposed to go to the main menu, the Nox image just flickers, and music plays, can't do anything else. Tried running in compatibility mode for Windows 95, 98/ME and it just doesn't load. Same thing with running as an administrator. Tried the other compatibility versions and it's the same as not having any compatibility mode set. Same for running with reduced color mode.

Any ideas?

Ok, so the problem is that GOG Galaxy doesn't like the game running in Window 98 / ME compatibility. Got it running fine once I just ran from the directory. I'll submit a Mantis trouble ticket for it.
