This fix was found by madman88 and all credit goes to him, i'm just reposting so it's easier to find

1) Go to Start, Run... and type "Regedit" to get to the registry.

2) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Westwood\Nox

3) Right click on the key marked "Serial" and modify it by deleting the hyphens.

this worked for him and I can also confirm it worked

EDIT: this only has to be done for the players joining, the host does not have to regedit

i installed this game, and westwood online, but i dont have the westwood registry folder in the Wow6432Node folder....... help??
knaufboi, try installing http://zoaedk.noxforum.net/files/WestwoodOnline.exe

And then try again.
