I tried to install NOX, and Avast reported a trojan Win32:VBCrypt-BQH - in file "is-FJEPN.tmp".
Probably a false alarm?

Yep. False alarm. I got it as well with Avast on one other game. Go ahead and install. GOG games are safe.
OK, thanks, I guessed so. :)
Yeah, Avast just did this to me too. Now I have to reinstall the game as it buggered up the game.exe. Won't happen again though, as I've excluded the directory.
Just had this happen. Even making an exclusion didn't help. Looks like Avast isn't going to let me play Nox. WTF?
Since it only detects this false positive in a temp file during installation, please try shutting down Avast completely before attempting to install Nox. As a precaution, you could disconnect/unplug your Internet connection, just in case.

With any luck it won't detect it in any file after installation, when you turn it on again...
There's another NoX client made by the Russian community, that also supports some nice features such as automatically switching to shield & sword together.

Try it, maybe it doesn't have a false positive for you.

Avast just told me there's a trojan in the exe file.
Kinda frustrating after i had to turn avast off so it wouldn't bother me during the instalation and now this.

Go into your Avast settings to the Exclusions tab and exclude the game exe.
I also had this Issue with screen flashing like pure insanity...

I set my computer to use the integrated graphics chip set instead of my Nvidia 610
Solved it right up. Also for lan corrupted issue, i will repost this from another dude:

1) Go to Start, Run... and type "Regedit" to get to the registry.

2) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Westwood\Nox

3) Right click on the key marked "Serial" and modify it by deleting the hyphens.

Have fun playing an ancient but fugging awesome game! Peas!
