Just tried to run Nox bought off GOG quite a while ago.
But all I got was a black screen with game sounds in the background.

After a couple of hits on Esc I can see what's shown in the attachment.

I looked up this forum and found some SDL patch for the game which didn't help at all.

I'm running Win7 x64 if that matters.

I have the exact same problem right now.

Wanted to give the game a quick spin to see if it was worthwhile getting it for a friend's birthday package to play on LAN and if this issue can't be resolved, it will be a no go :P.

EDIT: Perusing through this thread, there are some promising leads, but I'm running out of time to fix this.

I was able to start Nox at last.

First, I opened the game shortcut properties and in the "Start In" field entered the directory where the game is installed (somewhere I had a glimpse of this tip).

Then, as I have an Nvidia Optimus laptop, in Nvidia driver properties I chose to always use integrated Intel GPU for the game executable.

With this done the game runs fine.

Yeah, I tried that using the NVIDIA, forcing the game to use the integrated intel HD card and then the NVIDIA card respectively, but I've had no luck with either settings.

I'll have to try a few more tweaks as time allows.
