Seriously, after the pit / spike / undead hallway you get to a big room blocked off to the front with paths to both east and west. I flip a switch to the west, and east has a closed door I have no idea how to open. How do I continue the game?

Did you ever figure out this level problem. For me, the switch in the southwest hallway does not activate, so I cannot open the door in the southeast hallway. This means that I cannot progress past level 10. Any solutions out there?

Solution to Level 10 'locked door problem'.
You have to drop something out of your inventory onto the square floor tile in the corner that is surrounded by floor spikes (the square tile northeast of the door that you need to open). The weight of the inventory item that is dropped onto the square tile will activate the door. After dropping the inventory item (a useless shield works good for this task), jump over the floor spikes and open the door. You probably also have to first activate the switch in the floor alcove in the west (left) hallway before you make the inventory drop on the square floor tile in the east (right) hallway.
