Will gog version require galaxy for multiplayer? Or its drm-free single player and multiplayer?

I ask because i though Grim dawn was drm-free, except it does require galaxy client to play multiplayer..soo.. hence the question about no mans sky!

Nothing has been said either way about whether the server connection is dependent on Galaxy or not. I'm not sure there is any reason for it to be that way though, as it's not multiplayer in the traditional sense. But it's a somewhat novel game, and it's not out yet, so such assertions can only be speculation at this point.
You can play NMS "offline", no matter what service you're on, but I don't think you'll get updates to the galaxy atlas thingy, or be able to name your planets, creatures, etc, and send them to the galaxy atlas for others to see, Presumably you also wouldn't be able to trade on the market with other players, so it must have some kind of pseudo market going on.

All told, while you won't see another player physically 99.999999999% of the time, and this leads to people declaring it's not a multiplayer game, I still think there are multiplayer aspects that people will really miss if they play offline all the time. Like the market... like the atlas...

As to whether you need Galaxy, I don't know. I'm hoping not. I hope NMS has its own launcher for the multiplayer version and, when you log on with a username and password, it checks for the latest version, etc, and you don't need to be running any other software.
Any news about wether the game will require any sorts of client to work properly or it will be totally drm-free?

Let's hope it's not too late to make that happen (if it didn't already)

That's a very good question, and something I think GOG would have do well to explain, as I am currently in two minds about buying the game from Steam or GOG. It also may hint that the game really never was multiplayer or had multiplayer like features as some are suggesting!
ITS A SINGLEPLAYER GAME!

Im not sure what people dont get about that.......

I think what's confusing is that it is a single player game, with some "multiplayer" like features like shared discoveries. So you can tell that others have been there before but you just can't ever meet them or see them. It does not help that one or two posters keep insisting it's got full multiplayer experience and you will see and meet others. I guess in a few minutes we shall find out for sure.
I assume "the people" talk about the online features of NMS... and yes, they do require GOG galaxy (according to the shop page: "Please note: The GOG Galaxy Client is required to access online features for No Man's Sky.").
There is multiplayer, it's just bugged/broken at the moment and you can't see other players. You can use a feature that currently does work which helps locate other players, but the servers are barely coping with discoveries right now. Multiplayer should be fixed in an upcoming patch.
is the discoveries shared with steam and ps4 players? i do hope so!
