Ok, this may sound dumb, but I have forgotten what Galaxy my pre-NEXT save was in. I know I have jumped Galaxies a few times, but I cannot remember which one this particular save is in.

The game used to tell you what galaxy/system you just jumped in to, but now it won't even tell me what the system name is (or show up on the Discoveries page) until I land on a planet. Even then, the display message only shows System/Planet name.

I started a new save in Creative mode to experiment and the first time you launch into space, I get Galaxy/system names (Euclid), but a hyperdrive jump to another system follows the same previous way, nothing until I land on a planet and just System/Planet name.

Any Ideas?
Currently, the only way I know of finding out which galaxy you're in is to check on the PlayerStateData->UnverseAddress parent node in a savegame, which contains the RealityIndex key, giving the index of the universe you're currently in. Np names, though.

Since the RealityIndex is zero-based, you will probably have to increase that number by one to find the name of the galaxy you're in on the No Man's Sky gamepedia galaxy listing

Edit: Using goatfungus NMSSaveEditor (available from https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor, requires Java to be installed), here's a screenshot of the key in question, when Edit->Edit Raw JSON is selected of the value showing my current save being in Euclid.

Thanks for the information. Using the NMSSaveEditor you suggested, I found out where I am (Eissentam). The EDIT RAW JSON did not open on one of my saves, but I will keep trying.

Thanks Again.
Since Hello Games decided to bring back that information to be displayed after jumping or using a Terminus to get to a system with 1.57, that odd workaround is no longer required.

Everytime you warp in a new system, just when the warp sequence finishes, the galaxy name is displayed together with the system data.
