I would like to play NMS in VR seated with a DS4 controller and not with the Valve Index controllers / Knuckles.

There is one problem in VR with the DS4 controller, the mining laser is pointed backwards and does not aim with the right analog stick. Interestingly, if I change to the bolt gun the gun model is also pointed backward but aims according the movement of the right analog stick.

Any idea how to enable the mining laser in VR to aim with the right analog stick?

It seems that, after waiting for months for the update, the only way to play in VR is right handed with motion controllers. To say it is disappointing is an understatement.

Yes! i agree very disappointing, what also would be a great addition "VR seated with mouse and keyboard" like i can do with elite dangerous and many other VR games. To bad VR for pc is totally flucked! be nice if pc got priority over consoles for a change.

I've opened a request on the NMS zendesk support portal. Let's hope that someone sees it and maybe they patch it.
The mining tool should be pointing in the same direction as the person is walking and should be with the VR reset synchronized. Then it should be possible to target with right analog stick or mouse.

That would be awesome. I am not ready to pull the trigger on VR right now, but I am seriously considering it.
