Every time I boot No Man's Sky, the game looks and runs fine until it loads the intro level, and then all the textures are either not there, or are blurry and repeated, to the point that I can't tell what anything is or do anything but wander around aimlessly. When I go into the menus, the game looks fine. To make this more frustrating, I can't save the game, so i have to go through the whole load thing at the beginning each time I try a new video setting.

I'm able to run RE7, Prey, Fallout IV or whatever on this system, so it should be able to run this, right? Does the galaxy client interfere with the game?

Edit: Problem was solved by deleting the shader cache and clean reinstalling video drivers.

Ah, the shader cache again. Yes, it's a "Round up the usual suspects" I'm afraid.

Thanks for posting that you fixed it ... saves extra running around looking for answers.

I have been hoping that later releases will have some sort of mechanism that deletes the caches when driver, operation system or game version changes between launching.

Example process:
1. On the first start the game outputs the OS, Driver and Game version information to a file.
2. On subsequent launches the game checks what versions were saved previously against currently detected versions.
3a. If versions are different, the caches are deleted before the games graphics engine is started (and are recreated as the game runs).
3b. If versions are the same, continue with the game launch without deleting caches (to benefit from the performance improvement).

Bonus points for sticking an option in the game configuration menu or even just the configuration file like below:
Cache_Expiry=Never – Do not check to see if the caches have expired.
Cache_Expiry=Always – Do not check to see if the caches have expired but delete them each start.
Cache_Expiry=Auto – Default setting. Check if the cache has expired and delete them if required (as noted in the example process).

This would hopefully prevent this type of issue going forwards.

Although this is probably easier to say than do lol! (-;
